Founded in 1922, Clist & Rattle was established by Mr. L W J Clist and his brother in law Mr. S V Rattle.

We originally traded as electrical and motor engineers, however, in 1927 the company took on the Austin franchise and began to supply Bristol with the manufacturer's full range of cars.
